Richard Normington is the Conservative choice to fight the Cambridge parliamentary seat at the next general election.

Richard attended Cambridgeshire comprehensive schools before going to study History at University College London. He returned to the county, is married and lives in Romsey, Cambridge.

“I benefited from a good education and want others to have the same opportunity.”

Richard is an experienced campaigner, having served as the director of a global working association, the International Democrat Union, and he has organised campaigns for charities and good causes both professionally and in his own time.

“The voluntary sector, and especially the retired people who provide so many of the enthusiastic volunteers, needs greater recognition and thanks.”

Richard is well placed to challenge for the seat when the election finally arrives: the Conservatives are the only party to increase their share of the vote in each of the last three local elections.

“The next election will be whether we have a Conservative or a Labour government. Ticking the ‘don’t know’ box of other parties could allow Gordon Brown back into Downing Street.”
